Equal Access to CPD for Supply Staff

Teaching Personnel is currently assisting the London Metropolitan University with a research project commissioned by the General Teaching Council for England (GTCE).  The project focuses on the professional development support available to supply teachers.

The aim of the research is to assess what CPD provisions are currently being made available to supply teachers and what could be made available in the future to ensure that supply teachers receive the same access to quality CPD as permanently employed teachers. The study will include examples of effective practice, and will be used to inform policy and practice in this area through a wide range of stakeholders (including supply agencies, local authorities and the DCSF).

As a major supporter of ongoing professional development for supply staff, Teaching Personnel are keen to share our experiences and for the views of our registered supply teachers and support staff to be heard.
