The Welsh government has unveiled new guidance that will help schools raise standards by engaging families and the wider community in their work.
FaCE the Challenge Together guidance was launched last week at a Wales Centre for Equity in Education conference, with the aim of ensuring family and community engagement are at the heart of schools' wider approach.
Speaking at the event, education minister Huw Lewis emphasised the positive impact of these types of engagement on raising pupils' attainment levels - particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Mr Lewis pointed out that family engagement can have over six times more influence over a child's educational attainment than differences in the quality of the school.
Drawing on advice from schools and other key partners, the guidance has been favourably reviewed by leading academics in this field.
FaCE the Challenge Together is available on the Welsh Government's Learning Wales website.
