Youth Worker/ Teaching Assistant- Tower Hamlets

A special needs school in Tower Hamlets are looking for a 1:1 teaching assistant to join their specialist team immediately to support secondary pupils with autism and behavioural needs.

As a 1:1 teaching assistant here you will be assisting students in a secondary KS3 group of learners with autism and complex behavioural needs. You will be required to plan and then deliver the sessions in either one of the schools 1:1 centres , in public places such as library or in the pupils' homes. This role requires 1:1 intervention on core subjects Numeracy, Literacy and Science, you will need to be creative , confident and use a tailored approach to meet pupil's special educational needs.

Applicants considered for this position will:

• Have an understanding and experience of how to support students with autism and behavioural needs
• Provide high levels of interaction with students to spark their interest in education
• Be able to plan and provide differentiated 1:1 support tailored to each pupils needs
• Have previous experience working with children or adults with behavioural , special needs or mental health needs
• Hold a Degree in Criminology , Psychology, Sociology, or Health and Social Care
• Be able to travel daily to different pupils which will vary from school centres, student's homes, or deliver sessions in public places around Tower Hamlets, East London area
