Located just 15 mins from Uxbridge station, an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' primary and secondary school supporting pupils with autism and challenging behaviour are looking for Youth Workers interested in working in special schools to start full-time after the Easter holidays.

The role involves supporting a primary class of pupils with autism and complex behavioural needs in class and across the school 1:1, 2:1 and in small groups. This additionally will include behaviour management, developing behaviour plans, adapting lessons, creating innovative resources, report taking, liaising with therapists and overall support of pupils in your care.

You will ideally need:

• Live in Hayes or surrounding areas
• Be able to work full-time during school term time times
• Previous experience working with children and young people with autism, challenging behaviour or mental health difficulties
• Confidence in behaviour management
• Confidence in dealing with pupils with a variety of needs
• Confidence supporting in Maths, English and humanities

Additional experience/training preferred for this role:

• Trained in Team Teach, Physical Intervention, NAPPI, MAPA de-escalation training
• Trained in autism specialist support (PECS, Makaton, Attention Autism, Elklan and TEACCH)
• Qualified in GCSE grades A* - C or equivalent and/or higher
