Do you have a knack for behaviour management and mentoring?

Are you able to create a calming influence for young people?

Do you have a passion for helping young people make the best of their lives?

We're looking to recruit staff to work in some of our behaviour provision schools in the Stockport and Tameside area.
These schools support up to 100 children of secondary age who have social, emotional or mental health difficulties and have been excluded from mainstream education.

The Role & You

You will be expected to work with small groups of students or on a 1:1 basis with the students within the classroom. They follow an adapted curriculum to suit their learning needs which includes key subjects like Maths and English, but many vocational subjects too.
You will be expected to support them in the classroom, ensuring they remain engaged, attentive and interactive, whilst helping them to manage and maintain their behaviour.
You may also be required to assist in taking certain students out of the classroom, either to work separately, for 'time out' or to attend certain intervention sessions or meetings with them.
A calm and relaxed but firm approach is necessary for this role, alongside a resilient personality to deal with volatile attitudes which may arise.

The hours of work are within school hours, 8.30am-3.30pm Monday to Friday and the work is available on a temporary basis until the summer holidays.
Applicants who work well within schools and show initiative may be offered long term contracts or even permanent roles within the schools for the new school year.

Please be aware that ALL applicants must have an enhanced, child only DBS which is registered to the update service, or be willing to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.
