Are you looking for an opportunity helping students to engage in education? Are you looking for a challenging role which involves managing challenging behaviours on a daily basis?
We are currently working with a secondary Pupil Referral Unit based in Bury. The provision is looking to recruit a Graduate with a Degree associated to Youth and Community studies to work in their school. The PRU caters for young people who have been excluded from mainstream education as a result of not being able to cope in that form of provision. This may be due to certain SEMH needs and need social and emotional support.
The overall goal of the provision is to manage and address the difficulties which the student faces and work towards them rejoining mainstream education again.

The role of the Graduate will be to work as an Teaching assistant and mentor. This role will allow the candidate to build positive relationships with young people on a 1:1 and small group basis. They will also be responsible for de-escalation of difficult situations in a way which enables the young people to progress and remain engaged in the respective lesson/session, without major disruption.

The ideal Teaching assistant for this school will hold a Degree relating to Youth and Community work. Having a background of putting your Degree into practice is also essential for this provision. You must also have a confident personality and will not be fazed by behaviour's which could be described as 'challenging'.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
