Youth Work Cover Supervisor - Kirklees

Our client school located in Dewsbury, wish to appoint a Cover Supervisor with previous youth work experience, to support pupils aged 11-16.

  • Full time Cover supervisor position, immediate start.
  • £60 - £70 per day depending upon previous experiences
  • Fantastic opportunity to enhance future Teacher training applications
  • Supporting students in full class, small groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • Working with disengaged learners

The successful Cover Supervisor will support students in class across the subject areas, and deliver targeted interventions to students on a 1:1 basis during lessons and break times. Further to this, the appointed Cover Supervisor will have the opportunity to cover lessons in the absence of the class teacher, which is great experience of classroom and behaviour management. Due to some of the students displaying challenging behaviour, the role will also involve working closely with pupils who have been withdrawn from lessons.

Located near to the M62 motorway, our partner school is accessible from neighbouring areas Batley and Wakefield. They currently have over 900 pupils on roll, making the School and Sixth Form slightly larger than average. The school have expressed that the appointed Teaching Assistant has previous experience of working with students aged 11 - 16 who display challenging behaviour.
