Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Teaching Assistants with youth work experience to work with a client pupil referral unit based in Newport. You will be asked to support on a one to one basis with a pupil with challenging behaviour. The pupils that attend the client school may be diagnosed with autism or co-existing conditions including ADHD, learning difficulties, anxiety, Tourette's syndrome, epilepsy and or challenging behaviour. Experience of deescalating situations and managing challenging behaviour in a calm but effective way is ideal for the role. The school itself is run by an excellent, successful team of supporting staff Candidates will be asked to keep pupils engaged and on task to meet their objectives of the day. You will be required to work within regular school hours of 8:30-3:30. We offer a competitive rate of pay that ranges from from £54.00-£60.00 a day based on experience.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have Youth Work Experience
- Have strong Behaviour Management Skills
- Have an understanding of SEN (desirable)
- Have good communication skills
- Be a team player
- Have excellent behaviour management skills
- Have an outgoing personality
- Be confident
- Show great resilience
- Have a passion for helping others
- Team teach trained (desirable)
