Job description

A full time position commencing as soon as possible for a Qualified Youth Worker. This position commences as soon as possible and runs throughout the year. If you have significant experience working with pupils with extreme challenging behaviour and are looking for a new challenge please apply. This particular role will intially involve covering as and when the Setting require, however there are full time positions available.

This particular Setting is a Pupil Referral Unit which is located across 9 different sites in Manchester.The Setting provides education for pupils 11-16 who are being educated outside of Mainstream schools. Pupils who attend the Setting may be being educated out of Mainstream for a variety of reasons including: social, emotional and mental health needs and pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour. The main aim of the Setting is to support pupils and integrate them back into a Mainstream; however this is not always a possibility.

An ideal Youth Worker will have:

- A youth work qualifaction

- Experience working with pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour

- de-eslcation tactics

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
