Youth Support Assistant

We have an opportunity for you!

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our partner schools in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan, for a strong Teaching Assistant. The position is a full-time role (Monday – Friday) and has a hourly pay rate of GBP10.20 per hour. 

Our partner school help develop young people’s emotional wellbeing and social skills.  The aim is to develop students to be effective learners so they are able to cope better with the things they find challenging.  They do this through a focus on establishing positive and healthy relationships, emotional wellbeing and developing social skills.  This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who is fancying a change in career or if you have a keen interest in behaviour and/or psychology.

The school have an in depth induction process where they will go through the relevant policies and procedures in order for you to have the right amount of knowledge to start your new adventure. The school are even willing to put you through their own behaviour management training which is a great opportunity for you.

Due to covid-19 there has now seen a rise in behavioural issues, so the school are looking for a confident and passionate Teaching Assistant to help relate with the students. The school have previously used sports to help encourage pupils and this has aided engagement with the most challenging of pupils. Alternate ways of helping students has played a huge part in this school’s success over the years.

The ideal Youth Support Worker will have the following –

  • Ability to work in a team and individually
  • Able to handle pressured situation’s
  • Have experience working on a 1:1 basis
  • Have the confidence to tackle challenging behaviour and to work with additional learning needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
