Job description

Full time position for a youth worker is initially from October 2018 - July 2019, however for the right Youth Worker there could be the potential for a permanent position. This role will involve designing and implementing outreach activities which are designed to support and encourage the development of pupil's life skills such as: employ-ability and problem solving. The main aim of the setting is to integrate pupils back into mainstream; however this is not always possible. The pupils who attend this setting often show signs of challenging behaviour, so therefore the ideal youth worker will have extensive experience of working with pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour.

The ideal youth worker will have:

  • Team-Teach training (training can be provided)
  • Extensive experience working with pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour
  • Experience of working within a challenging setting (preferably a PRU)
  • Experience of delivering outreach activities destined to develop pupils life skills
