As the Youth Intervention Worker for Teaching Personnel, you will have a passion for working with pupils and assisting them on their journey, which may have included all manner of set-backs in and outside of education. You must be prepared to go above and beyond. You will be working with children who display extremely challening behaviour.
We are looking to appoint flexible, dynamic and dedicated people with experience of, or an interest in working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and behaviour difficulties.
The successful candidates will have a varied role, which involves supporting the teacher in all aspects of planning lessons in and out of the classroom, helping to prepare materials and resources, and working together with the teacher to ensure that pupils receive the most effective support. You will be able to demonstrate practical, hands on approach to supporting teaching. You may also be required to work 1:1 outside of the classroom or in small groups.
Previous experience of working with pupils with SEN is desirable but not essential for the right person.
Applicants should be committed to raising the aspirations and achievements of all our pupils and be committed to their own professional development.
Your duties will include:
- Supporting the teacher in all aspects of planning lessons, preparing materials and resources.
- Have a resilient attitude and give 110% every day.
- Encourage and reward positive behaviours.
- Supervise and Support the Children & Young People.
Key Skills required:
- Effective communication skills.
- Behaviour management.
- Ideally you will have previous experience in supporting Children & Young People with Challenging behaviours.
- Full UK driving licence required.

* Have experience of supporting young people with challenging behaviour in any capacity, have your own car and be happy to drive the students with business insurance.
* This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
* Your CV must cover the last 6 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
* You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
