Year 6 Teaching Assistant needed in Burnley Primary School

A Primary School in Burnley are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Support Assistant to join their team. The role is to start as soon as possible and is to work as a general Support Practitioner in the Year 6 Class. You are to work alongside the Class Teacher by helping to reduce unnecessary work load with general Teaching Assistant roles e.g.; photocopying, display work, good behaviour management, play time cover etc. and to also work within the Year 6 Class, delivering high quality Maths and English Interventions in order to raise the children's attainment ready for SATS week in Summer Term 1.

You will be required to work with all abilities and be able to differentiate your Teaching methods to suit all needs. The successful Practitioner must hold a Level 2 or above in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent and must have had more than 3 years experience working in schools with a broad knowledge of working in KS2.

The school itself is a small School located in Burnley and has recently received a grading of 'Good' by Ofsted. The Head Teacher stated that 'The staff and children are wonderful and we make a strong united team and achieve greatness together'. She is thoroughly keen to bring on a new member of staff and would like to employ someone who has a passion for working with children.

The Head teacher is looking for the following:

• Level 2 or above qualification

• An experienced KS2 Practitioner

• Confident with delivering engaging interventions

• Ability to work independently or part of a team

• Superb behaviour management

The salary is based on a 6.5 hour day, Monday to Friday, and depending on experience, this could vary between £8.40-£10.50 per hour. Additional salary may increase depending on the interest of welfare.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
