**Year 6 Teaching Assistant - English or Maths Specialism**

An Ofsted rated 'Good' school is looking for an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Graduate to join their team on a full time, long term basis.

Pupils behave exceptionally well in and around the school. They are polite, enthusiastic and highly value the opportunities that they get to learn and play at school. The children are passionate about learning and are encouraged by teachers to 'aim high'. However the levels of attainment are below the National Average and extra support is required to raise this. Support is especially required for the Year 6 children, who are at a crucial point with their upcoming SATs just around the corner.

The successful candidate will need to support pupils with their SATS preparation. An English or Maths specialism is desirable.

  • Based in Rochdale (OL15)
  • Easily accessible from M62, A576 and A663
  • Half an hour direct trains from Manchester City Centre

About the role:

  • Based in a Year 6 class
  • Provide support to pupils with their reading, writing and maths
  • On a 1:1 basis and also with small groups
  • Full time and on a long term basis
  • Possibility to become permanent if agreed by Head teacher

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Level 3 qualification or Degree
  • Experience working with Key Stage 2 pupils
  • English/Maths specialism or extensive experience teaching either topic
  • Able to identify each child's differences and unique talents in order to then tailor their approach
  • Academically confident & versatile
  • Ability to be creative with learning
  • Have a real passion and desire for education

The role is on a full time, long term basis with the opportunity to be made a permanent member of staff for the right candidate.
