Year 6 Teaching Assistant - Accrington

Job description

Have experience in Year 6?

Do you want to support children in their SATs preparation?

Can you provide additional support/ booster sessions in the Year 6 classroom?

You must be available to take up a full time Teaching Assistant role from the first week after the February half term holidays 2019 until May half term 2019. The Head Teacher has discussed the potential of extending the position to then work with Year 5 children. You will be working alongside the very experienced Class Teacher within the Year 6 Class, delivering high quality Maths, English and Science Interventions in order to raise the children's attainment gearing up for the Year 6 SATs. The majority of the children in Year 6 are working inline with the age related expectation. In preparation for the SATs you may be working with targeted groups of children that are working towards National expectations.

The school is a two form entry Primary school with a mixed catchment area of mainly white British heritage children and Asian heritage. The children tend to arrive from challenging backgrounds and so the entry level is lower than National Average particularly for Reading and Writing.
