Full classroom Teaching Assistant role available in a Year 5 class in a Chelsea based Primary School

  • Full classroom role along with 1:1 support for children with special needs
  • Role to fit different profiles, from Graduates to experienced Support staff
  • Primary school has received a 'Good' rating from Ofsted

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant for one of our partner primary Schools in West Central London, in the Chelsea area, who are looking to employ enthusiastic and passionate support staff to work within their Year 5 classroom.

Applications from Graduates and more experienced Learning Support Assistants are welcome. If you are interested in furthering your career in education and have ambitions of becoming a class teacher, this role is an excellent starting point and provides valuable experience. You will be working closely with the class teacher in ensuring the children are supported.

You will be responsible for:

Providing children with support, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis

Assisting the children with their work; in particular literacy and numeracy

Following the child's IEP ensuring they work towards their targets

Liaising with the SENCO and other support staff on a regular basis

You may be responsible for:

Working in a full classroom setting and providing support for pupils with additional needs

The successful applicant will be:

An excellent and clear communicator


Passionate about working with children

Understanding and approachable

Someone who possesses excellent literacy and numeracy knowledge

This position will be suitable for:


A person who holds a child care or teaching assistant qualification

A person who has worked in a caring position and has transferrable skills

An experienced Learning Support Assistant wanting a new challenge

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
