Job description

A Swanage school requires a Teaching Assistant with experience with challenging behaviour.

  • Support a small group of children with behavioural needs across KS1
  • Work as a 1:1 and small group support with children with social and emotional needs which has resulted in challenging
  • Extremely supportive team with whole school training every few weeks.

A school in Swanage is working in partnership with Teaching Personnel to recruit a level 3 teaching assistant with experience working with challenging behaviour.

The ideal candidate will have experience de-escalating challenging behaviour and Team Teach training would be good but not crucial.

The school has recently opened a nurture room for children who have social and emotional needs which often leads to challenging behaviour. The school have seen excellent results after opening the nurture room with children slowly moving back to more hours in their classroom not the nurture room. They are looking for another member of staff to support their team.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
