Experienced Year 5 Teacher Required For Maternity Cover - January 2017 Start…

  • 6 month Fixed Term Contract
  • Starts January 2017 – Ends July 2017
  • Up to M6 pay scale (negotiable depending on experience)

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a client school that are looking to recruit an experienced KS2 Teacher to start after the Christmas holidays. Due to a planned absence (maternity leave) the Head Teacher is seeking a reliable, passionate and enthusiastic Year 5 Class Teacher to come in and hit the ground running. The position is full-time and will continue until the end of the school year in July 2017.

The school is a larger than average, award winning Primary school based in the market town of Accrington. It was graded ‘Outstanding’ in its last Ofsted report and exceptional progress is made by the pupils through key stage 1 and attainment levels are higher than the national average by the end of key stage 2. This is largely down to the quality and consistency of teaching, secure assessment procedures and excellent leadership and management of the Head Teacher and senior leaders. The catchment area is pretty mixed with many pupils coming from deprived backgrounds however behaviour in school is excellent.

The Year 5 class consists of 30 pupils from varying backgrounds and mixed ability. There is one child in the class with additional needs however; there is a Teaching Assistant in place to offer 1:1 support, in addition there is another general TA each morning to assist throughout the placement.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
