A one form entry school close to the centre of Blackburn have approached Teaching Personnel in order to shortlist a number of teachers for a Year 5 teacher role, to start in November 2019 until the end of the academic year. You would be covering a maternity leave and the Head Teacher has explained there be teaching opportunities within the school the following academic year. The Head Teacher is keen to meet every shortlisted Teacher with the view to seeing them plan and deliver a high quality Maths or English lesson.

Behaviour in school has been reported at 'GOOD' but can be challenging at times. This position offers candidates the scope to develop their career, alongside upholding high expectations of learning, attainment and behaviour. You will be expected to tailor your delivery to ensure that all children are able to access the Curriculum and in turn, creating an individualised learning environment. Within the class there is a mix of abilities that will require differentiation. You will have an full time teaching working in the Year 5 class who is has worked in Year 5 previously therefore has good subject knowledge.

Experience of delivering the Key Stage 2 curriculum and evidence of excellent primary school classroom practice references are essential for this role. The successful candidate will be required to work on a full time basis and will get relevant PPA time allocated. Feedback from Teaching Personnel staff who have been in school recently to cover short term absences have said the school is lovely and is a pleasure to work in.

Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £100-£150 per day

Start date: Monday 4th November 2019

End date: Tuesday 21st July 2020

In order to qualify for the role:

  • You must hold Qualified Teacher Status
  • You must have previous experience of working in Key Stage 2
  • You must have a track record of raising attainment in Key Stage 2
  • You must be able to evidence good behaviour management techniques
