Job description

Teaching Personnel, in partnership with a well-known school in Canary Wharf is looking for a year 5 teacher to accommodate the school's growth from a two form entry to three form. The school are hoping to find a teacher to join them in April providing interventions additional support and progress to the class teacher position in September. The school achieved a score of 'Good' in its latest Ofsted inspection report, where it was noted that the children felt happy, safe and enjoyed learning.

The candidate:

  • QTS and UK work experience essential
  • Enjoys working in a culturally diverse and highly inclusive school
  • Will have demonstrable experience in raising attainment in preparation for Year 6

The school itself has excellent facilities, is centrally located 10 minutes from Canary Wharf, and offers great in class support for teachers in the form of two assistants and an inclusion specialist. The school has recently made a concerted effort to appoint a number of school governors with tailored functions of student support. These included behaviour monitoring, providing for children with SEN requirements and offering interventionist teaching. The school has also underscored its commitment to the physical wellbeing of the children by hosting sponsored sports days and holiday clubs with regular input from parents, achieving a silver award from Healthy Schools London.
