Vacancy reason - Maternity

The School:

This is a one-form entry Primary School, located within a socially deprived area of Darwen. This school is close to the town centre and is easily commutable by public transport. The Role:

This is a full time teaching role from February 2019 due to maternity. The position will continue until July 2019 and the Headteacher is looking for a practitioner who would be interested in a permanent role in school from September 2019 or sooner. In this role you will also be expected to undertake the full teaching role; planning, delivering and assessing the children in line with the local framework and the National Curriculum. You will therefore need to have strong subject knowledge in all curriculum areas especially in Maths, Reading and Writing. The class is made up of 32 pupils and the Headteacher has described this group as 'the best behaved class in the school'. The school are happy to consider a Newly Qualified Teacher for this role, however there may not be the capacity to complete any part of NQT induction.

The pay and working hours:

The pay for this role will be determined by experience and level of teaching during your time in school. It is expected to fall within the bracket of £50-£75 per half day, based on a 6.5 hour working day.

How to apply:

To apply for this role, you must hold Qualified Teacher Status. You must also be experienced in KS2 and be prepared and committed to raising standards in the classroom. The school will also be looking for a practitioner who is happy to mix with the current staffing team and become 'part of the furniture'.
