Job description

The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to start September 2018 to support for one of their year 5 classes.

The role would require you to offer support for the lower achieving pupils in the Year 5 class by taking them out in small intervention groups for an hour at a time. The support would be in all core subjects such as reading, writing and maths as the school want to prepare the pupils in the best ways possible in order to achieve the levels of results that they are capable of. The role would require you to help keep the class settled so the teacher can continue teaching to the planned lesson.

The role will involve:

  • Working alongside teachers and parents.
  • Supporting pupils who have behavioural issues.
  • Providing support to a range of children with a variety of needs.
  • First-hand experience supporting SEN - Personal or within a class room environment would be advantageous.

You will be working Monday - Friday between the hours 8:30am- 4pm.

In order to be successful for this role you will need a child workforce DBS (or willing to process a new one), two excellent references from the last 5 years and be registered with the EWC.
