Year 5 (General) Teaching Assistant role (Chelsea)

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner primary Schools in the Chelsea area, who are looking to employ additional enthusiastic and passionate support staff to work within their Year 5 classroom for the remainder of this academic year, with the potential to turn into a permanent position for the right candidate.


Applications from Graduates and more experienced Learning Support Assistants are also welcome. If you are interested in furthering your career in education and have ambitions of becoming a class teacher, this role could be an excellent starting point to provide you with valuable experience.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing children with support, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • Assisting the children with their work; in particular literacy and numeracy
  • Following the child's IEP ensuring they work towards their targets
  • Liaising with the SENCO and other support staff on a regular basis
  • You may be responsible for:
  • Working in a full classroom setting and providing support for pupils with additional needs

This position will be suitable for :

  • A candidate who holds a child care or education related qualification
  • A candidate who has worked in a care position and/or has transferrable skills
  • An experienced Learning Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant looking for a new challenge


Applicants must :

- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Be living in London and/or have plans to move to London in the near future and/or be willing to travel to West/Central London
- Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided)
- Provide two professional or character references
- Be available to interview and/or trial asap
- Be available to start within the next two weeks
