Job description

A headteacher of a small village primary school is looking to recruit an Upper Key Stage 2 teacher for a 0.8 position for the last half term of the academic year. The role has arisen due to a member of staff going on maternity leave.

The school require someone to teach in their upper key stage 2 classes - teaching year groups 4,5 and 6. Due to the time of this position, the school need someone who can join their team without much direction and can competently support SATs Preparation. You should be able to competently plan in line with the national curriculum and North Yorkshire Planning.

As part of the recruitment process, the school would want to see prospective candidates in a lesson observation, following the planning of the Headteacher. The school may also want to see you for an interview for this position.

Those who apply must have experience of working and teaching in KS2 and know the expectations of the national curriculum. They are also encouraging applications from NQTs.
