Year 4 Teaching Assistant - Primary School based in Burnley

Role:

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a Primary School in Burnley, who have come to our agency to source an enthusiastic Primary Practitioner to work alongside the class teacher in the Year 4 class. The position is to start after the October half term and would be full time, 5 days a week. This role is available due to a gap in staffing therefore will be for the full academic year with the view to being extended further. The Head Teacher is looking for an individual who would be confident supporting groups of lower attaining pupils in the Year 4 class. The role will involve delivering planned intervention sessions in Maths & English in a morning and then general support in an afternoon.

School:

The School is an average sized Primary which has a mix of white British & Asian heritage children. The children tend to arrive from challenging backgrounds and so the entry level is lower than National Average particularly for Maths, Reading and Writing. The School do have a strong and consistent behaviour policy which is used effectively to ensure all the children work to their potential and no disruptive behaviour can affect this.

Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £9.50 - £11.50 per hour

Start date: October 2019

End date: July 2020 - View to being extended further

Requirements for the role:

  • CACHE Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Minimum grade C in English & Maths at GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Experience leading interventions particularly Maths and English
  • Experience supporting children within Key Stage 2
