Year 4 Teaching Assistant – A Primary School in Great Harwood

 

-               Full time teaching assistant with optional welfare duties

-               Experience supporting children in a primary setting, ideally within Key Stage 2

-               Happy to deliver small group interventions

 

Teaching Personnel is seeking a teaching assistant who is proactive and has prior experience working within a primary setting. A year 4 teaching assistant is required for a January start, within a primary school in Great Harwood. . The position is available due to a member of staff taking early retirement within school. You would be needed on a full time basis Monday – Friday (8.45am - 3.30pm). The position is to start in January 2020 until the end of the academic year. The Head Teacher has said there may be an option for the role to become permanent. The Head Teacher has explained that they are looking for a Level 2 teaching assistant who can work effectively using their own initiative and improve standards under the leadership of the class teacher.

The school is average sized, with 27 pupils in the Year 4 class and the majority of children are working in line with the National Expectation. You would be supporting the children during core and foundation subjects. In some afternoon sessions you may have the opportunity to work with small groups of children to provide intervention sessions – focusing on spelling, punctuation and grammar. The Head teacher has commented that they would like to appoint a Teaching Assistant who is committed and they would be keen to meet with suitable candidates who are interested in the role.

 

Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

Salary: GBP9.50 - GBP12.50 per hour

Start date: January 2020

End date: July 2020 (possibility of becoming a permanent role)
