Year 4 Teacher


Key Stage 2 role

Full time position

Primary School based in Clitheroe


A primary school have approached Teaching Personnel to help them source a suitable candidate to work in Year 4. The primary school in Clitheroe are hoping to source a Year 4 teacher to start Thursday 3rd September 2020. The school were hoping to recruit a permanent member of staff during the summer term however due to school closures and restrictions in place this is not possible. The Head Teacher has said the role would be from September to December, they then hope to appoint permanently in January. If the chosen candidate for the Autumn term is successful and fits in well with the current staff team, the permanent role may be offered to them.

The incoming Year 4 teacher will need to be willing to take on full time responsibilities including, planning, marking, data entry, continual assessments etc. You would be teaching a class of 28 pupils with a full time teaching assistant who has very good curriculum knowledge. There are a high percentage of children working towards age related expectation, the Head Teacher has commented that they plan to put interventions in place as soon as possible to support children with significant gaps in their learning. The Head Teacher is willing to consider NQTs as well as experienced teachers for this role.

The school are hoping to short list suitable candidates by Thursday 30th April. Once the candidates have been shortlisted there would normally be an observation and an informal interview however considering the school closures, the Head Teacher has advised that they would like to do an informal interview via a telephone or video call.

Successful applicants will need to:

  • Hold QTS
  • Demonstrate outstanding teaching ability
  • Have experience in Key Stage 2
  • Be willing to work as part of a team
  • Have high expectations of children’s attainment and behaviour
