Year 4 Support/Teaching Assistant

Year 4 Support Assistant role

Part time

 

A Primary school is keen to recruit a support assistant to join their hardworking team in order to work in the year 4 class. You would be working closely with a child in the class who requires additional support. Due to a gap in staffing the school are looking to secure a support assistant with recent school experience. You would be required to start mid January and would be needed 5 mornings a week – Monday to Friday (8.45am-12.30pm).

You would be supporting a child on a 1:1 basis with speech and language needs. Behaviour can be challenging as the child can be easily distracted and frustrated as they struggle to communicate. You would be working closely with the class teacher to ensure progress is made and targets are in line with their IEP.

The school is larger than average situated in Accrington. The Head teacher has commented that they would like to appoint an individual who is committed and they would be keen to meet with suitable candidates who are interested in the role.

 

So, what are the requirements to apply for this role?

-          Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification and or an equivalent certificate

-          Recent experience working alongside children in Key Stage 2

-          A hard-working and committed attitude to raising standards in the class room

-          Experience supporting children with SEN

The role is to start mid January 2020, with a view to be until the end of the academic year. The expected working hours for this role are Monday-Friday, 8.45am - 12:30pm. The successful candidate will spend some time in the class room with the children then interview with Head Teacher. Rates of pay are competitive starting at GBP9.50 per hour paid into your bank account on a weekly basis.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later
