Job description

A Primary School based in Haringey is looking to hire an enthusiastic and motivated learning support assistant to support a child with challenging behaviour every morning from January 2019. They are looking for someone who can set clear and firm boundaries to effectively support learning, whilst also being able to differentiate work to suit the child's individual needs. You will work closely with the SENCO, to update them on the child's progress.

The role will be to work with a child in Year 4, supporting with behaviour and social interaction, as well as the National Curriculum.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will:

  • be educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Have at least 1 year of experience supporting children/adults with challenging behaviour
  • Be highly motivated, enthusiastic and be willing to learn and develop new skills
  • Be keen to work as part of a team
  • Be committed to promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring equal opportunities to learn and develop.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who has a Criminology/Psychology degree, youth support or social work background, who is seeking to gain experience within a primary school.
