Year 3 Teaching Vacancy- Skelmersdale Primary School - Start in Easter (April 2019)

The School:

This is a one-form entry Primary School, located in the town of Skelmersdale on the outskirts of Lancashire. This school is close to the town centre and is easily commutable by public transport from surrounding areas such as Ormskirk, Leyland, Chorley and Wigan. SLT have an excellent reputation within the local area and the Headteacher is well respected by staff, pupils and parents. The Headteacher has introduced an effective behaviour policy and as a result, the school and the behaviour has been graded as GOOD by Ofsted. The Headteacher is looking to source a teacher who is committed to contributing to continuous school improvement and somebody who will set clear expectations to pupils from day one in order to maximise attainment in class.

The Role:

This is a full time teaching role from April 2019 due to maternity. The position will continue until December 2019 and the Headteacher is looking for a practitioner who would potentially be interested in a school contract in an alternative year group at the end of the maternity cover. In this role you will also be expected to undertake the full teaching role; planning, delivering and assessing the children in line with the local framework and the National Curriculum. You will therefore need to have strong subject knowledge in all curriculum areas especially in Maths, Reading and Writing. The class is made up of 30 pupils and the Headteacher has described this group as 'the best behaved class in the school'. The school are happy to consider a Newly Qualified Teacher for this role, however there may not be the capacity to complete any part of NQT induction.

The pay and working hours:

The pay for this role will be determined by experience and level of teaching during your time in school. It is expected to fall within the bracket of £50-£75 per half day, based on a 6.5 hour working day.

How to apply:
