The Role

The Head Teacher of a primary school in Blackburn is keen to secure an enthusiastic a lower key stage 2 teacher to join their hardworking team in order to work in a mixed year 3 and 4 class. The cover is required due to scheduled absence in school so is from Thursday 3rd September – Thursday 17th December. You would be teaching a class made of (15) year 3 and (13) year 4 pupils therefore you need sound knowledge of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum. The majority of these children are working at age related expectation. In light of the recent/ current partial school closures, the Head Teacher anticipates there to be significant gaps in learning therefore this will need to be take into consideration.

The School

The school is located in Blackburn and the children who attend the school arrive from various backgrounds. Feedback from Teaching Personnel staff who have been in school recently to cover short term absences have said the school is lovely and is a pleasure to work in. The Head Teacher has commented that they want to employ a candidate with a proven track record of raising attainment and has a nurturing personality. You must also be able to create a purposeful and engaging learning environment and form good relationships with children, parents/carers and staff.

QTS qualification or equivalent

Key Stage 2 National Curriculum knowledge

Recent experience working alongside children in Key Stage 2

A hard-working and committed attitude to raising standards in the classroom.

Full time availability!

The role is to start Thursday 3rd September, as you would be covering an arranged absence with a view to continue until December on a full time basis. The school would like to meet suitable candidates as soon as possible, potentially via a video call. Rates of pay are competitive starting at GBP95 - GBP125 per day paid into your bank account on a weekly basis.
