Year 2 Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School, Bournemouth

  • Year 2 experience essential
  • Knowledge of Phonics Schemes
  • Work from March 2019 until July 2019 on a temporary contract/potential to go perm

A Church of England Primary School located in Bournemouth requires a Year 2 Teaching Assistant. The role is one that will require a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is keen to make a difference in the classroom. You must have sound knowledge of the National Curriculum and expectations in Year 2.

The class is average sized with children from varied backgrounds; the majority of pupils are from affluent areas. Behaviour in school has been reported 'GOOD' and pupils show good progress across KS1 and KS2. The role is to support the whole class and work with different ability groups, deliver Maths and English interventions and support those who are not reaching 'Age Related Expectations'. You are also required to support the children who are reaching 'Above Age Related Expectations' and deliver more in depth Maths and English interventions to ensure they are being furthered to their full potential.

The salary is based on a 6.5 hour day, Monday to Friday, and depending on experience, this could vary between £9-£11 per hour.
