Job description

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a Catholic Primary School in South Liverpool to assist with staffing changes after half term. The school is specifically looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their vibrant school. The Teaching Assistant is required to have a good working knowledge of Read Write Inc. Phonics Scheme or have trained in Ruth Miskin.

The school is rated as 'Good' by Ofsted, Behaviour is outstanding as pupils' attitudes to learning are impressive. Leadership at all levels is outstanding. The school is rapidly improving because leaders and governors have tackled previous weaknesses.

A CACHE Level 2/3 qualification or degree in an education related subject such as Education Studies is required for this position as the school are looking for someone who can come into school and help deliver small group interventions across EYFS and Key Stage 1. The Teaching Assistant is required to have experience in a primary school or nursery within the last 12 months.

The teaching of phonics is excellent and has resulted in a rapid rise in the number of pupils reaching the expected level so that this is now well above average. The Teaching Assistant will be responsible for the delivery of Read Write Inc. across Year 2, working inside the classroom and in small groups.
