Year 2 Teaching Assistant

  • Do you have a Level 2 or above in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent?

A small Primary school located in Bacup are looking to appoint an experienced support practitioner to join their warm and welcoming team. The role is to start as soon as possible and is on a temporary basis with the potential to turn into a permanent position. You would be required ona full time basis (Monday - Friday) within the Year 2 class. Your main role would be supporting the whole class during core and foundation subjects as well as leading booster sessions two afternoons a week. Good subject knowledge within KS1 is essential and experience leading small group interventions is desirable.

The school is a high performing school with the majority of children working at age related expectations. The class is average sized with children from varied backgrounds; the majority of pupils are from affluent areas. The Head Teacher would like to meet suitable candidates for this role and would be keen to show candidates around school.

Job Type: Full time (Monday - Friday)

Rate of pay: £9.50 - £11.50 per hour

Start date: As soon as possible

End date: July 2020 with a view to being a permanent position

The Head Teacher is looking for the following:

  • Level 2 or above qualification
  • Experience in the KS1 primary setting
  • Confident with delivering engaging interventions
  • Ability to work independently or part of a team
  • Superb behaviour management
