Year 2 Class Teacher

Teaching Personnel are working with a mainstream primary school in the Crosby area, L23, who are seeking full time Year 2 Class teacher from September 2022.

Candidates must demonstrate that they are:

  • hard-working, committed, positive and an excellent classroom teacher, who has a thirst for improvement;
  • able to work effectively in partnership with the existing teaching and learning team;
  • able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of the teaching of reading;
  • able to share their curriculum expertise and demonstrate the positive impact of this on children’s progress and learning;
  • able to demonstrate excellent classroom management skills to secure the very best outcomes;
  • able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of strategies to raise attainment and accelerate progress;
  • able to demonstrate high expectations of themselves and pupils;
  • committed to their own professional development;
  • able to communicate effectively and in a timely manner with children, colleagues, external professionals, parents/carers, as well as other school stakeholders;
  • able to manage their time effectively;
  • adaptable; willing to take on new challenges and able to work in a team to achieve the school’s key priorities and for the best interests of the children and their learning.

The Class Teacher should have, and be able to demonstrate, knowledge and understanding of:

  • statutory National Curriculum requirements, including age-appropriate standards in Key Stage 1
  • the theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all children (e.g. classroom organisation and learning strategies);
  • the needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs, those of high ability, those with English as an additional language, as well as those with disabilities, and be able to use and evaluate distinctive teaching approaches to engage and support all pupils;
  • the monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ progress;
  • the statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, SEND and Child Protection/ Safeguarding;
  • the positive links necessary within school and with all its stake

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
