Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a friendly, compassionate and eager Learning Support Assistant for a new opportunity within one of our Primary schools, located in the Monmouth area.
The ideal candidate must relate to children on an individual level as well as creating a fun, stimulating and safe environment (in association with the school's visions and ethos), whilst maintaining high standards of education.
The role :
You will be looking after a Year 2 student with Emotional difficulties and Challenging Behaviour on a one-to-one basis. The child works well with the curriculum therefore the academic support will be fairly minimal, however a very nurturing and patient profile is required from the right candidate. You must be compassionate and eager to learn about Special Educational Needs, work well alongside the SENCo, and provide continuous support to the child in order to prepare him to fit in older year groups and integrate well with the other children in and out of the school.
This is a long-term position, Monday to Friday (school hours). The ideal candidate must have previous school based and/or SEN related experience. Any certificates, diplomas or other qualifications related to a Education and/or Special Educational Needs are desirable (but not compulsory).

Applicants must :
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided)
- Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales) - please note that if you are living in England, you can still register with the EWC which will give you the opportunity to work on both sides of the border
- Provide two professional or character references
- Be available to interview and/or trial asap
- Be available to start on short notice
- Be living in Monmouthshire and/or have plans to move to Monmouthshire in the near future and/or be willing to travel to Monmouthshire
