Year 1 Teaching Assistant - Rishton Primary School

Experience in Year 1 is essential

Able to deliver interventions to a small group of children

A Primary School located in Rishton have contacted Teaching Personnel, as they require a Year 1 Teaching Assistant. The role would be starting from April 2019 until July 2019 with a view to become permanent. The role consists of working in the classroom supporting particular children as well as delivering interventions to a small group of children. The successful candidate will be expected to provide quality support in line with the KS1 Curriculum framework, specifically targeting Maths, Reading and Writing skills.

The class you would be supporting is average sized with a mixed catchment of white British and Asian heritage. Behaviour in school has been reported 'GOOD' and pupils show good progress across KS1 and KS2. The Head teacher has commented that they would like to appoint a Teaching Assistant who has worked closely with either the Read Write Inc. or the Letters and Sounds Phonics Scheme.

The salary is based on a 6.5 hour day, Monday to Friday, and depending on experience, this could vary between £9-£11 per hour. Additional salary may increase depending on the interest of welfare.
