A Primary School in the heart of Burnley, East Lancashire have approached Teaching Personnel in order to source and appoint a Year 1 class teacher to take up a full-time teaching role in KS1 from after the May half-term. The role is expected to be for a full year, June 2021 – July 2022, due to a full year’s secondment. The current class teacher will be going to take up an Assistant head’s role in another local primary school. The role will be full-time and even though it will be on a supply basis, the school will honour the full years booking. There is a potential the role might be permanent due to the member of staff staying at the other school. The class has 30 pupils in and is ranging from expected and emerging levels of attainment. Due to the school closures, the levels are behind where the school would expect a year 1 class to be at this time of year. You will have a full-time, experienced TA within class.
The Head teacher has notified the agency on the following…’I am looking for a teacher who can come into the KS1 department and share GOOD and OUTSTANDING practice. We are clear in that we would like a practitioner who can come into school and hit the ground running, someone who wants to develop their teaching career and potentially move on to leadership/additional teaching and learning responsibilities’.
The school is located outside the main town centre in Burnley and is easily commutable by train and car. With this said, there are a number of children in the school who come from a range of multi-cultural backgrounds and so this affects the development of language and communication skills. The Head teacher has commented that she would like to appoint a teacher who has worked closely with either the Read Write Inc. or the Letters and Sounds Phonics Scheme.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
