Year 1 Teacher, Southwark

Job description

Working with a partner Primary School Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Year 1 Teacher to start ASAP. The school is located right on the edge of Greendale Playing Fields in Herne Hill and is well connected to Southern, Southeastern and Thameslink train lines being situated walking distance from both East Dulwich Station and Herne Hill Station.

The School was graded Ofsted Good in its last two inspections with Leadership and Management and Behaviour and Safety both graded Outstanding. The school is well resourced with pupils able to experience a wide range of vibrant learning opportunities inside and outside school. The general attitude towards the school is that pupils are enthusiastic about learning and proud of their school.

The school creates and maintains a happy, safe and inclusive environment where adults and pupils both feel welcomed. The school has a culture of continuous improvement which believes in giving the pupils a voice and allocating time for self-reflection and self-assessment.

You will be working as part of a really lovely team of staff where the teamwork between colleagues is so strong it drew particular comment during their recent Ofsted inspection. There are excellent opportunities for career progression and to undertake training linked to their developmental needs and the school are keen to help work with you on any areas you may be particularly passionate about developing further.

The school ideally looking for a candidate with at least two years of teaching experience. The key criteria for shortlisting include:

  • UK QTS
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • People willing to go 'the extra mile' to ensure children make the required progress

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
