Year 1 Teacher - Primary School in BB1

Are you available on a full time basis from October 2019?

Do you have recent experience teaching in Key Stage 1?

Do you have experience teaching Phonics?

In order to be considered for this role you must hold the following as a necessity:

  • QTS in Primary Education
  • Experience in working with children in a Primary setting
  • Able to demonstrate a high quality of teaching especially Reading and Writing through Phonics work
  • Experience of teaching Phonics
  • Have at least two education based references from your most recent employer(s) which are 'GOOD' or 'OUTSTANDING'.
  • You must also be available to take up a full time teaching role from October 2019.
  • You must be able to commit to the role until the end of the academic year with the opportunity to continuing further.

The School:

This primary school in Blackburn is larger than average with a variety of fantastic facilities within the school grounds including a newly refurbished library, engaging outdoor areas, computing suite and a class set of iPads for EYFS, KS1 and KS2. There are a number of children in the school who come from a range of multi-cultural backgrounds therefore this affects the development of language and communication skills.

The Role:

The Head Teacher is seeking to appoint a Year 1 experienced practitioner who can effectively build positive relationships with staff, children and their parents. The role is to start in October 2019 until the end of the academic year. There may be an opportunity for this position to be extended further for September 2020. They are looking for someone who can raise standards in academic ability as well as social and communication skills; contribute to the wider school community by attending INSETs and staff meetings. The Head Teacher has commented that they would like to appoint a teacher who has worked closely with the Letters & Sounds Phonics Scheme. You must be committed not only to the role but also to be treated as a member of full time/permanent staff. You will have your books and planning scrutinised and lessons will be observed.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £100-£150 per day

Start date: Tuesday 29th October 2019

End date: Monday 20th July 2020
