Year 1 teacher vacancy in Southend area for September start

Teaching Personnel are working with an averaged size primary school in Eastwood, Southend-on-Sea. They are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Key Stage 1 teacher to join their team as a Year 1 teacher. The position will start on a temporary basis, however there is an opportunity for the position to become permanently, if both you and the school are agreeable. They are looking for a full-time teacher, however they do have the capacity to accommodate a teacher only looking for 3 days per week.

You will be required to undertake the teaching of general subjects to a Year 1 class as well as pastoral and administrative duties in respect of pupils in this class;

• Plan and deliver, with regard for the school’s aims, own policies and schemes of work, the teaching programme for all children within the class, using clear differentiation.

• Assess and record each pupil’s progress systematically with reference to the school’s current practice, including the social progress of each child and use the results to inform planning

The school are judged as a Good school. The attainment in Key Stage 1 has dramatically improved. Especially in Year 1 where the national screening checks on understanding letters and sounds has exceptional results. The school also has a Nursery which offers part-time education. The school has a happy and safe environment and they also offer a broad education. The schools has excellent facilities and offers a variety of activities to suit all.
