About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 1 Classroom Teacher to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that support children’s early development. What We’re Looking For:

Our partner school is searching for a teacher with a passion for Key Stage 1 learning, including strong skills or interest in:
• Early literacy and phonics (e.g., Little Wandle, Read Write Inc. or similar)
• Early maths mastery approaches
• Supporting children with a range of needs, including:
– SEMH
– ASD


Key Details:

Start Date: ASAP (flexible for the right candidate)
• Location: Barnstaple, Devon
• Type: Part time, Temp-to-Perm – with strong potential for a permanent post
• Pay: M1–M6 DOE (paid weekly)

Your Responsibilities:

Teach a Year 1 class using engaging, creative, and inclusive lesson plans
• Deliver high-quality phonics and early literacy sessions
• Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs
• Create a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCO, and the wider school team
• Foster strong relationships with pupils and families
• Promote safeguarding and the welfare of all children


What We’re Looking For:

A qualified teacher (ECTs welcome to apply)
• Genuine passion for Key Stage 1 and early education
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A reflective, motivated professional committed to ongoing development
• Experience with SEN or SEMH is beneficial but not essential
• A positive, nurturing approach to teaching and learning
