I am working with a fantastic Primary school in Surbiton, South West London. The school are looking for someone to be Y4 Leader for September 2018. In addition to being a class Teacher this candidate is expected to carry out the professional duties of a TLR post holder with the responsibilities as described below, as circumstances may require and in accordance with the school's policies under the direction of the Headteacher.

Being located in Surbiton it is a very desirable place to work in and the SLT within the school are very supportive. The school want an experienced professional and someone who is or is looking for a more senior role within a school. The school got a grade of 'Good' in their last Ofsted inspection and are looking to bring on staff members that can share the school's vision and get them where they want to be. This school has state of the art facilities for both staff members and pupils.

Key Purpose of the role:

  • To lead an effective phase team and ensure outstanding outcomes for the children.
  • Teach a class of pupils and ensure that planning, preparation, recording assessment and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
  • Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Contribute to constructive team-building amongst teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and governors.
  • Ensure that the current national conditions of employment for school teachers are met.

School expectations:

  • Implement agreed school policies and guidelines.
  • Support initiatives decided by the Headteacher and staff.
  • Plan appropriately to meet the needs of all pupils, through differentiation of tasks/having the highest expectation of every child, believing that every child learner has unlimited potential for development.
  • Plan and deliver the curriculum within the framework of present school policies, both in the short and long term planning structures.
  • Set clear targets, based on prior attainment,for pupil's learning.
  • Plan and resource a classroom that will encourage the development of all aspects of the children's learning. In particular to encourage children independent use of resources and involvement in their learning.
  • Provide a stimulation classroom environment, where resources can be accessed appropriately by all pupils.
  • Monitor children's progress, keep records and evaluate children's achievements. To set children high standards in the content and presentation of their work.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with colleagues, working as part of a team in all aspects of school development.
  • Maintain good order and discipline amongst pupils, in accordance with the school's behaviour policy.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers in providing a quality education experiences for all children and report to parents on the development, progress and attainment of pupils.
  • Participate in meetings which relate to the school's management, curriculum, administration or organisation.
