Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Welsh Medium Teaching Assistant to cover two terms for a maternity post in the Gwent area. You will have relevant experience assisting a teacher within a classroom setting and will be required to work with groups on a rotation basis as well as providing intervention for pupils working below the targeted level or pupils with Additional Learning Needs. The school are looking for an individual who has excellent proven behavioural management and is able to transmit a positive energy to their surroundings and partake in various extracurricular activities and/or school events.

The ideal candidate is somebody who:

  • Is able to start on short notice.
  • Has relevant experience in a childcare and/or classroom environment.
  • Strong behavioural management or experience working with challenging children.
  • Is able to be adaptable to various circumstances.
  • Positive, patient and energetic.
  • The passion to make a real difference.

Applicants must :

- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided)
- Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales) - please note that if you are living in England, you can still register with the EWC which will give you the opportunity to work on both sides of the border
- Provide at least two professional or character references
- Be available to interview and/or trial asap
- Be available to start on short notice

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
