Student Well-Being Teaching Assistant

School can have a hugely positive impact on a child's life and so this last year in and out of lockdown will not been easy for many students.  Some pupils may feel anxious about returning to school and stressed about how it has affected their learning. Other students may not have had any routine whilst working from home and so coming back into school will find it hard to re-adjust back into a school structure and have developed behavioural needs. 

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Well-Being Teaching Assistant to join a large SEN school school in Hull.

This role is to begin on April 12th, but there may be an opportunity to join the school sooner.

We are seeking someone that is able to commit to this role until at least the end of the academic year.  There may be an opportunity for the right candidate to join the school on a contract pending a review in July.

GBP10 hourly pay - PAYE with no umbrella fees!

What does a Pupil Well-Being Assistant do?

You will be joining a large support team that excel in driving pupils learning and development. This department plays a key role in supporting the pupils well-being with special education needs and learning difficulties within the school.

You'll be kept busy, working as a Teaching Assistant across Key Stage 1,2,3 and 4. Your day will be varied, supporting children in the classroom on a 1:1 basis to manage their own behaviour and emotions, engage with tasks set by the class teacher, and reach their full potential.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Promoting the safeguarding and well-being of all pupils
• Providing holistic behaviour support
• Delivering 1:1 interventions and ensuring pupils mental health is looked after
• Managing students behaviour
• Developing confidence and promoting positive peer interaction
• Providing opportunities for academic, social and emotional development within a safe and secure learning environment

Who are we looking for?

You'll by dynamic, resilient, and flexible; dedicated to supporting pupils to achieve and progress!

You will ideally have but not essential:

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant  or experience supporting individuals with additional needs, in particular; mental health, behaviour, emotional, social, ASD, and ADHD.
• Experience with SEND in our outside of a school setting
• A relevant degree such as Psychology, Education, Maths, English etc

However the above are only desirable criteria, we are open to accepting positions from all those interested.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
