Learning Support Assistant required to support a visually impaired student at a college based in Northamptonshire

About the role:

  • Work 1:1 with student with a Visual Impairment
  • Full time role, September start
  • Opportunity to support other students with Autism, Learning Difficulties, Challenging Behaviour and SEMH
  • Would suit an experienced Learning Support Assistant or recent Graduate with knowledge of Special Needs
  • Predominantly non-classroom based role - Most students are studying a range of vocational subjects such as Animal Care or Carpentry
  • Work with students at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and above

This Learning Support Assistant role will involve working 1:1 with a student with a visual impairment on a full time basis. There will also be opportunities to support within the SEN department of the college. Other SEN needs you will be working with include Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties.

Teaching Personnel are seeking Learning Support Assistants with previous experience working with secondary learners with Special Education Needs who are seeking a new and exciting challenge. This role would be perfect for someone who has experience working with children or adults with visual impairments.

The ideal SEN Learning Support Assistant will have previous experience working in a secondary school or college doing 1:1 or group work with students presenting with challenging behaviour. If you have experience working with adults with additional needs, you would be perfect for the role.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
