VI Support Assistant Required in Atherton

Job description

Are you experienced supporting pupils with visual impairments? Are you passionate about making a difference in pupil's lives? Would you like to join a real family feel school where are staff work together in order to get the best for their students?

If so an Outstanding Primary School is currently looking to appoint a support assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a blind pupil who is currently in their Year 3 class. The child is severely visually impaired and therefore will need support during class and transitioning around school. The school is located in the Atherton area and aims to ensure that both staff and pupils are able to succeed in what they are trying to achieve, by creating an inclusive environment that is a able to scaffold the learning of all pupils, allowing them to overcome any barriers to learning that they may have.

To be successful you will need to:

  • Have experience supporting pupils with Visual Impairments.
  • Have experience working within KS2.
  • Have a real passion for making a difference.
  • Be patient, nurturing and adaptable.
  • Experience of working with braille is preferable.
