The School

A Church of England School in Blackburn have approached Teaching Personnel as they require two Teaching Assistants starting in September. This Primary school is larger than average and graded 'GOOD' by Ofsted. This school has fantastic outdoor facilities for the children and encourage a number of outdoor activities. The Head Teacher would like to meet suitable candidates as well as carry out relevant observations.

The Head Teacher is looking for the following:

  • Level 2 or above qualification
  • An experienced KS2 Practitioner
  • Confident with delivering engaging interventions
  • Ability to work independently or part of a team
  • Superb behaviour management

Roles

The two teaching assistant roles will be based within Key Stage 2. They vary with regards to being on a part time/ full time basis. Both of these roles are to start in September and will be for the full academic year. Find out more details on the two roles below.

Job Type: Full-time (Monday- Friday) or Part-time (Mornings)

Salary: £9.50 - £12.50 per hour

Start date: Tuesday 3rd September 2019

End date: Friday 24th July 2020

Teaching Assistant - 1

  • Part time role
  • Working within an upper Key Stage 2
  • Additional support in the class for the lower attaining children
  • Leading English and Maths interventions
  • Excellent subject knowledge required

Teaching Assistant - 2

  • Full time role
  • Working across the Key Stage 2 classes
  • Leading booster sessions in the afternoon
  • General Teaching Assistant duties
  • Flexibility to work across different classes within KS2
