Teaching Personnel are looking for Teachers and Tutors to work on a 1:1 basis with pupils in Nottingham, Hucknall, and the surrounding area. Specifically, the East Midlands SEN Team are searching for teachers to tutor students with challenging behaviour, or who are struggling with their mental health.

Role Overview:

We are looking for Tutors for Science, Math and English. We are looking for Teachers with QTS, QTLS or equivalent Teaching Assistant Experience. The tutoring sessions are normally 2-3 hours long, however we are often able to offer a full day of lessons through 2-3 different pupils as well as part time work.

You would be responsible for working on a 1:1 basis with a young person who is working towards sitting their GCSEs, or studying Functional Skills, and requires tutoring to access their potential. You would be required to have good subject knowledge in the core subjects.

Current Roles we Have Available:

We specifically have a need for delivering 2 hours Maths tutoring once a week at 2.30 – 4.30 to assist a Year 11 child with ADHD and challenging behaviour.

We also have another role providing 15 hours a week (3 hours a day) to another year 10 student who has been identified as needing additional support. The tutor will be required to teach him Maths, Science and English 3 hours a day, in his care home.

About the role:

  • Part time work Monday – Friday (Could also be full time)
  • Pay rate GBP15 – GBP25 per hour
  • You will be delivering core subject lessons to bridge the gap in their learning and support the pupil’s emotional needs
  • Most of the pupils will have SEND needs so we require tutors with experience of working with young people with a range of different needs and abilities

To be eligible for this position, you are required to have the following:

  • School / Tutor experience
  • Good subject knowledge in Maths, English, and Science
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide at least two references that can be contacted
