Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are looking to speak to graduates who are looking for work in February 2022. We are working in collaboration with one of our partner schools in Stockport in looking to appoint a number of support staff to help students initially until the end of the academic year.  Applications are encourgaed from indivdiuals looking for long term work within the education sector, or for those considering teacher training in the future,Whilst prior experience working within a school based environment is highly desirable, this is not essential.  However, it is imperative that the applicant has some experience working with children. This could be across a number of alternative settings, including:

• Sports Coaching
• Youth Work
• Charity Work
• Tutors/Academic Mentors
• Carers

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:

• Providing constant support and guidance to all students, with particular emphasis on students with SEN.
• Managing student behaviour in accordance with school policies, ensuring students keep in line with these at all times.
• Creating resources and educational material for students to engage with, as well as providing pastoral support in order to deal with student problems.
• Supporting teaching staff, identifying students who would benefit from extended support from the SEN team.
• Working on small group basis across a wide range of subjects, as well as providing support within your subject specialism.

Pay for this role hourly: £10 - £15 per hour.  

The applicant will receive full training with regards to key school factors, as well as sit in departmental meetings in order to provide feedback on student development and progress.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
